The WILCOX ARM represents a quantum leap in comfort when using the AN/PVS-14A in the "hands free" head mounted
configuration. This is because the weight of the AN/PVS-14A is not distributed along the top of your head by a hard plastic crown which becomes very uncomfortable after wearing the standard AN/PVS-14 Headmount for
any length of time. To keep the PVS-14 from moving around when walking or running the standard PVS-14 head mount's chin straps have to be cinched tight which adds to the pressure of the hard plastic ring on your
head. The WILCOX ARM enables you to use the Litton Facemask, designed for their AN/PVS-7A/C, AN/PVS-15, and AN/PVS-18 night vision equipment. This Facemask uses a net fabric to cover your head and four soft
cushioned face pads to come in contact with your forehead and face. The weight of the PVS-14 is distributed along the top of your head and at a right angle onto your forehead and face at four points. The
WILCOX ARM and Litton Facemask can be worn under a Kevlar helmet. |
