Introducing the NEW Advanced Kevlar Helmet Mount type –23, or AKHM-23, for use with the AN/PVS-23 and F5050 Ground use Night Vision Goggles.

The AKHM-23 uses the same Aluminum and Delrin Ruggedized construction used in the AKHM II ACH and AKHM III products used in real world combat conditions in the Gulf by U.S. Soldiers and Marines and by Law Enforcement Officers here in the United States.  Since the AN/PVS-23 and F5050 are self-powered, the need for external electronic support has eliminated the wires and connectors used on the AKHM II ACH, as shown below.

Other types of ANVIS-Type Night Vision Goggles to Kevlar helmet mounts use the standard U.S.G.I.  flight helmet mount as part of their design.  The AKHM23 is different; it was designed to be the toughest (ANVIS) AN/PVS-23 or ITT F5050 Night Vision Goggle to helmet mount made.  This is accomplished by the use of Aluminum instead of Ultem in critical stress bearing areas and the use of Delrin in other key areas.  These Aluminum and Delrin parts are CNC machined from solid blocks of material to insure maximum strength. The overall design has been simplified so fewer parts are used, achieving overall greater strength.

The AKHM-23 weighs 126 grams or 4.4 ounces and provides a vertical travel of 7/8 inch for the AN/PVS-23 when attached to a helmet.  The AKHM-23 can be used on the PASGT, ACH, MICH, and Ops Core FAST helmets.
