Attention all Active Duty U.S. Military Members and Members of Law Enforcement |
|
|
|
Are you using an ANVIS NVG also known as the AN/AVS-9, AN/AVS-6(v)1, AN/AVS-6(v)3, F4949, or ANVIS-9 and you need to use it for Ground
Operations? If so, you probably want the toughest highest quality helmet mount available without spending a fortune on it. |

Introducing the newest product from Wilcox Engineering & Research, the super tough Anvis Kevlar Helmet Mount type II Advanced
Combat Helmet or AKHM II ACH pictured here: |

The AKHM II ACH is a Combat proven product in use by the U.S. Army and civilian Law Enforcement Agency SWAT Teams. |

Other types of ANVIS NVG to Kevlar helmet mounts use the standard USGI flight helmet mount as part of their design. The AKHM II
ACH is different; it was designed to be the toughest ANVIS Kevlar helmet mount made. This is accomplished by the use of Aluminum instead of Ultem in critical stress bearing areas and the use of Delrin in other key
areas. These Aluminum and Delrin parts are CNC machined from solid blocks of material to insure maximum strength. Even the external wiring has been beefed up using a tough shielded two conductor cable, which
replaces the flimsy 28 gauge wires having shrink tubing over them. The overall design has been simplified so fewer parts are used, achieving overall greater strength. Key features ANVIS NVG users expect are still
retained such as the dual sets of low corrosion electronic contacts LEMO connector, and the low voltage warning blinking red LED. |

The AKHM II ACH is sold with a Kit that solves problems identified by U.S. Army Aviators in the field with other like
products. These problems were identified as:- ANVIS NVGs do not adjust close enough to the operator's eyes.
- Mount works on some ACHs but does not snap correctly into place with other ACHs. - Soldiers had to tilt ACH down until it was almost on the bridge of their nose to have the goggles in a
position to see through effectively. - ACH rotates forward with NVGs installed in the mount. - Neck strain experienced after hours of ACH - NVG use. All of the above
issues have been resolved with the AKHM II ACH Kit. Due to the proprietary nature of these solutions they can not be identified here. Additional information can be provided only to Active Duty Military
personnel and LEOs using their government e-mail system. |

The AKHM II ACH mounts to the ACH, PASGT, and MICH helmets. Attaching and positioning the ANVIS NVG in the AKHM II ACH is the
same as with the USGI Flight helmet mount. |

The AKHM II ACH comes with the Graphics Training Aid card, which provides instructions on the AKHM II ACH's use with the ANVIS
NVGs. A custom American made Cordura carrying pouch is also included in black or ACU colors as shown above. The carrying pouch has a special pocket for holding the GTA card(s) as shown below. This
pocket protects the GTA cards from being damaged |

When folks in the field make suggestions, we listen. One Pilot wanted more room in the carrying case so that he could store
his low profile battery pack with his AKHM II ACH. A great idea, so our custom American made Cordura carrying pouch was redesigned so that it would hold the AKHM II ACH and GTA card as seen above on the left and
hold a LPBP too as seen on the right. |
